Housing Support Business The Housing Support Business is a system where the government subsidizes a portion of the installation costs when introducing new and renewable energy facilities—such as solar PV, solar thermal, geothermal, small wind power, and fuel cells—into homes. This aims to reduce household energy costs and expand the distribution of renewable energy.

Legal Basis Article 27 of the Act on the Promotion of the Development, Use and Diffusion of New and Renewable Energy: The government provides the basis for subsidizing a portion of equipment costs to promote the distribution of renewable energy facilities.
Applicants
Detached Houses and Apartment Complexes
Eligibility Notes / Precautions
If a detached house is registered under joint ownership, the application must be made in the name of the person with the largest share, and the installed facility will be considered the applicant's property.
If the shares are divided equally, consent forms from all joint owners are required.
Buildings owned by the state or local governments are excluded from support.
Installation Procedures
  • 01
    Select Energy Facility to Install
First, decide on the renewable energy facility suitable for your home.
Available types of installation include solar power, solar thermal power, geothermal power, small wind power, and fuel cells. Detailed information can be found in the business introduction and product/company information menus on the housing support website.
  • 02
Select Participating Construction Company & Request Contract Review
After selecting your desired construction company, request a contract review through the online system.
Information on construction companies can be found in the introduction of participating construction companies on the website.
It is recommended that you review several companies to compare their installation availability, expected costs (out-of-pocket expenses), and economic effectiveness.
Before requesting a contract review, please be sure to consult by phone or on-site.
※ The member information and applicant information must be identical and must be entered accurately.
※ Civil and criminal disputes (including rights to sunlight and view) that may arise during the product selection and installation process are not within the scope of responsibility of the government and the center.
  • 03
    Sign Standard Installation Contract
If the installation is approved, the standard installation contract will be reviewed with the construction company, and the contract will then be executed.
Please carefully review key details, including out-of-pocket costs, installation models, and warranty terms.
The documents required for the project application will be forwarded to the construction company.
  • 04
Submission of Project Application by Construction Company
Once the contract is complete, the construction company submits the project application to the center via the online housing support system.
  • 05
    Check Progress Status
After the center reviews the documents, a text message containing the virtual account information for the self-payment deposit will be sent.
  • 06
Deposit Self-pay Amount → Project Approval
Once the virtual account is issued, the project will be automatically approved upon deposit of the self-funded contribution into the designated account.
  • 07
    Proceed with Facility Installation
Upon project approval, the construction company installs the facility according to regulations.
  • 08
Request Installation Confirmation from Center After Completion
When installation is finished, the construction company requests installation confirmation from the center.
Examples of required documents: Defective Performance Guarantee, cost breakdown, photos of major processes, pre-operation inspection certificate (power generation), geothermal operation data, inspection list, etc.
The Korea Energy Agency's regional headquarters will visit the site to verify installation accuracy and operational status.
Upon completion of the review, a text message confirming installation completion will be sent.
  • 09
Consent to Payment of Self-pay Amount
Once the installation is confirmed, you must agree online to release your deposited self-payment amount to the construction company.
After 14 days from the date of installation completion, payment will be made to the construction company regardless of the applicant's consent.
  • 10
    Inquiries Regarding Defects During Use
Please keep the equipment user manual safe and familiarize yourself with the provided precautions.
If you encounter any issues during use, please contact the installation company first (three-year free after-sales service).
If you have difficulty accessing after-sales service through the installation company, you can contact the **Renewable Energy Equipment Integrated Call Center (1544-0940)** for assistance.
